The virtual network Eurochromnet wishes to achieve:

1. Enhanced awareness for rare chromosome disorders in the public, political and scientifical arenas.
2. Stimulation of the discussion on setting up national teams or expertise centres for rare chromosome disorders. This should be dealt with at a national level. Eurochromnet can serve as a platform to exchange experiences and ideas in the various countries.
3. Start of a virtual working group which will initiate discussions about the possibility of establishing a European support team or expert group on rare chromosome disorders.
4. Receiving advice and support for this initiative from organisations like Eurordis, VSOP and ECARUCA.
5. Spread of information about progress, issues and initiatives concerning rare chromosome disorders and consulting Eurochromnet partners on these issues.
