The Chromosome Help-Station was founded March 21, 2002 in The Netherlands by Annet van Betuw. She is founder and president (until March 2007) of the European Chromosome 11q Network. Read the article in the Eurodis Newsletter, March 2005.
She is also co-initiator of Zeldzaam, which is the Dutch network of parents with children with rare chromosome disorders and is an experienced project co-ordinator and manager. She left her job to set up this Help-Station in order to promote the interest of people with rare disorders. In January 2004 she published "European Rare Chromosomes United; a European orientation on people involved'. This lead to the start of Eurochromnet.

Other initiatives from Annet van Betuw (links in Dutch):

  • Van Betuw Advies, 2004, Help-Station for Dutch groups for rare diseases and disorders. (Help-Station voor Nederlandse groepen voor zeldzame aandoeningen) (website opgeheven december 2006)
  • Weblog Zeldzaam, 2005 (opgeheven december 2006)

The website is a very useful instrument to promote interaction between people involved with rare chromosome disorders. You can give your ideas, suggestions or other reactions by sending a mail.
